Here's an update for you on my affiliate marketing website wheelalong.co.uk, a site I created around seven months ago. I did a tutorial on how I built the site, and since then, I've been documenting exactly how well the site has been performing in terms of traffic and revenue. Right now, I'm going to tell you what happened in January 2021. I'll share with you the latest traffic numbers and the latest earnings.
Google Analytics in January 2021 – Wheelalong.co.uk

The site is about seven months old. At this point, I'd expect stuff to start to happen on the traffic front. The thing is, if there is a Google Sandbox, it should be over by now. The site has been out there for over six months, so you'd hope the traffic was on the up. And if we look at analytics, you can see that it is up. It's up 2%, which is not very exciting really. At least it's not down. But if we drill down into the traffic, we can see that organic traffic is up 14%. And direct traffic, which is traffic that's probably come from YouTube, is on the decline. So, I'm not too worried about that. As long as the organic traffic is going up, I'm happy. I've had Stan Ventures (one of my favourite SEO companies) build some links to the site. They've been building some links to my powered wheelbarrow article, and it seems to be working pretty well. That article is now ranking on the first page of Google.
Amazon & AdSense earnings in January 2021

The website pulled in a fantastic £20.35 on amazon.co.uk. That is around $26. When we take a look at AdSense, the site earned £4.32. The site is still in AdSense. I haven't switched to Ezoic just yet. If we add those two together, we get a grand total for January of £24.77. That's up £12 on last month. We're heading in the right direction. I added seven posts added in January. I'm going to slow down the content a little bit. If you remember, when I started the site, I didn't want to spend too much money on content. We'll see how we get on in February. I might add one or two articles, but I'm not going to push it. I want the site to bed in now and start making a bit of money.
Moment of excitement

I got very excited in the middle of January when a sale was registered through the Amazon associates account for Wheel Along website. And it was from the article that Stan Ventures was working on. They're building links to the powered wheelbarrows article. We had a sale on Amazon for a powered wheelbarrow. I got very excited, and I posted it in the Facebook group. That wheelbarrow on Amazon is selling for £840. It was all very exciting thought that we're going to earn a reasonable commission here. But after a couple of days, it disappeared from my Amazon associates account. I guess they cancelled their order before it had even been shipped.
Final Word
This month was up and down. But I'm sure we're going to sell another powered wheelbarrow. That article is getting reasonable traffic now. It's only a matter of time on that. I'd love to know how your affiliate sites are getting on. Let me know in the comments.
